Estonian Hotel and Restaurant Association EHRL made a statement on Thursday in which it expressed concern that the decision of Estonian Air to close several routes will affect the accommodation business and the country’s image in general.
Raigo Triik, manager of EHRL, said that transport connections were having a direct impact on the tourism business.
"Tourism enterprises that depend directly on the mobility of people find it difficult to plan their activities if you have no confidence on the future of air connections" said Triik.
He added that instability in developing route network will also complicate long-term cooperation with foreign partners and will not benefit the image of Estonia as a tourist destination.
EHRL said it was particularly concerned about the decision to close the Tartu-Tallinn route.
