Despite the abundance of posters with talking heads telling passerby to vote for them, most parties and election coalitions have yet to roll out their plans of action if voted into office.
With three weeks to go before the local government elections, outside of the capital, parties have not made much of an effort to explain their plans, said Annika Uudelepp, the head of Praxis, a think tank, while speaking on an evening TV program two days ago.
Following up on the claim, ETV looked south of Tallinn, examining the situation in 22 Tartu County municipalities yesterday. Indeed, the Social Democrats had only disclosed five local programs, the Reform Party two and IRL one, on their websites. The Center Party, meanwhile, only offered its national program, with no locally tailored agenda in the whole county.
Responding to journalists over the lack of information available to voters, party representatives said that plans are still in the works. At the same time, the outdoor campaign ad period ended over a week ago already.
