The Center Party has asked the European Court of Human Rights to evaluate the e-voting system used in the 2011 parliamentary elections in Estonia.
“In the opinion of the Center Party, the current legal regulation and system of e-voting go against the Constitution of Estonia. The system has large security risks. The lack of transparency of the electronic voting system undermines election results and also trustworthiness of public power,” the party's secretary general, Priit Toobal, said in a press release on Thursday.
He said they have asked the court to inspect data included in their petition, and to evaluate the legality of e-voting.
