Average monthly gross wages and salaries of Estonian employees increased for the fifth consecutive quarter in the second quarter, data released by Statistics Estonia showed Tuesday.
Average monthly gross wages and salaries increased 4.2 percent year-on-year to EUR 857 in the second quarter. Average monthly earnings rose for the fifth quarter in a row.
Meanwhile, real wages, which takes into account the influence of the change in the consumer price index, decreased 1 percent annually in the three-month period, marking the 11th consecutive fall.
At the same time, the average hourly gross wages and salaries grew 4.8 percent on an annual basis to EUR 5.08 during the quarter.
