Estonian wages fell the most on record in the fourth quarter as the Baltic country’s companies and the government cut spending due to weaker demand and falling tax revenues.
The average monthly gross pay fell an annual 6.5 percent to 12,259 krooni ($1,055), the biggest decline since records started in 1993, after falling 5.9 percent in the third quarter, the statistics office in Tallinn said on its Web site today.
