According to the Information Centre on Estonian Literature, works of Jaan Kross and of Jaan Kaplinski has been most often translated to foreign languages in the past few years, writes Postimees Online/LETA.
Kross has been translated on 64 occasions and Kaplinski on 34 occasions. Every year more than a dozen Estonian works of literature are translated into foreign languages.
Interest towards Estonian literature was greater during the second half of 1990s and the year 2007 was also an exceptional year as then Estonia was the guest of honour at the International Göteborg Book Fair in Sweden when 17 Estonian works of literature were translated into Swedish.
