* Estonia's defence ministry said in a statement Friday it had signed a contract with Finnish small arms maker Sako to buy Sako TRG-42 sniper rifles for the country's special forces and reconnaissance units.
The ministry did not disclose the value of the deal.
Raimo Karjalainen, the chief executive of Sako, said he was pleased with the procurement agreement as it had been the result of a tough tender.
The Finnish defence ministry said the export permit procedure was but a formality as the buyer was a reputable EU member state.
