TALLINN - Anarchists held a picket in front of the Russian Embassy in Tallinn yesterday afternoon, calling for the relief of political prisoners detained in St. Petersburg during a G8 summit protest.
Spokespeople for the North prefecture told the Baltic News Service that 30 people had gathered near the embassy building on Pikk Street in Tallinn’s Old Town.
Leaflets distributed by the protesters called for the immediate release of political prisoners in Russia, and a similar call could be read from letters printed on the protesters’ shirts.
The rally was organized by Estonia’s anarchist movement PunaMust.
