* Estonia is one of the few countries in history that successfully revolted against oppression and occupation ... without violence. They called it The Singing Revolution.
Everyone remembers the fall of the Soviet Union, few people know how it all began and how one of the smallest countries in the world took on one of the greatest empires. Non-violence wasn't only a philosophy, it was a strategy that denied Moscow any pretence for futher intervention in Estonian internal affairs.
It is a story of David and Goliath. It is a story of Estonia, a country with only 1,4 million people, and how they took on the Soviet Army, linked arm to arm, using song, demonstrations, petitions, and skillful parliamentary procedures to play a leading role in the ultimate collapse of the Soviet Union.
