* The annual Nordic Poetry Festival organised by the Nordic Council of Ministers’ Office in Tallinn, Estonia, has published 292 poems by 28 different writers, all of whom have taken part in the poetry festival.
The book was launched on 30 January at the Nordic Council of Ministers' Office in Tallinn. The publication is considered a major event. The book features poets who have appeared at the festival over the last two years.
"This is a huge opportunity for Estonian readers to learn about Nordic poetry," said Eha Vain of the the Nordic Council of Ministers' Office who was one of the main movers behind the "Speed Within Silence" project.
The project was facilitated by a grant from the Nordic Literature and Library Committee (NORDBOK) and a NORDBOK representative attended the launch. The Council of Ministers' office stressed that .........
......... neither this publication nor previous ones would have been possible without the generous support of Nordbok.
The poems have been translated by Estonian poets, authors and other professionals in the literature field. Estonian state television is also expected to produce a radio programme featuring recordings of recitals from the book.
