From June 20, Spain’s largest low-cost carrier Vueling will start direct flights on the Tallinn-Barcelona line, announced Tallinn Airport.
Erik Sakkov, board member of Tallinn Airport, said that the Spanish carrier has made a very significant step. “Without fearing competition with Ryanair, they have taken this major step and we are very happy about it. We hope that this is the start of a long and beautiful cooperation, he said.
Vueling is Spain’s largest budget airline that was launched in 2004.
By now the airline has 70 Airbus aircraft and flies to more than 200 destinations in Europe, Northern Africa and Middle East. The company carried 14.8 million passengers in 2012. It is based in Barcelona’s El Prat Airport.
The airline will be flying to Tallinn with a 180-seat Airbus 320 as a seasonal route between 20 June and 12 September.
