Handset sales totaled 26,000 units in Estonia in February, according to a study from GfK Retail and Technology. Smartphones' share of handset sales, in units, grew by 7.5 percent year-on-year.
Tele2 Estonia claims that the smartphone share jumped by 25 percent in its shops in February. Sales of Sony devices were a growth drive, with sales of the Sony Xperia M smartphone surging 900 percent month-on-month thanks to their joint promotion.
Some 7,600 conventional mobile handsets and 18,600 smartphones were sold in Estonia in February, according to the study. The average retail price of a moble phone was EUR 252, or EUR 205 in Tele2 Estonia branded shops. The handset sales volume in Estonia in February was EUR 5 million.
