Nearly 5.7 billion euros worth of income was declared by Estonian residents for 2012; the gross income per person grew by 7% in 2012, LETA/Public Broadcasting cites the final data.
The average income per person in 2012 was 10,428 euros versus 9,746 euros in 2011.
564,985 income tax declarations were submitted to the Tax and Customs Board, by 3,532 more than last year. 647,729 people declared their income, by 4,184 people more than for 2011.
Income from wages was the biggest part of declared income: 509,258 people declared a total of 4.4 billion euros of wages. This means that based on the 2012 income tax declarations, the average wage was 715 euros a month, by 46 euros more than a year earlier.
The number of people who declared income from working abroad grew y 16.2%.
