Europeish travel blog, a source that publishes information about Europe's most attractive travel destinations and culture sights, has compiled a list of Europe's 79 most beautiful churches, where Tallinn-based Alexander Nevsky Cathedral has been placed the 17th, informs LETA.
The first place was given to the St. Basil’s Cathedral in Moscow, Russia, followed by Sagrada Familia, Barcelona (Spain), and bronze – Hagia Sophia, Istanbul (Turkey). Nevsky Cathedral, located in Tallinn, ranked right above Notre-Dame of Amiens, Amiens in France.
The Europeish travel blog compiled a list of cathedrals from all over the Europe. The author analyzed and presented the top 79 churches based in Europe, including impressive, unusually located (Santuario di San Besso, Meteora), or uniquely designed (Hallgrimur, Chiesa di Dio Padre Misericordioso).
Riga Cathedral and Aglona Basilica were also on the list, placed 52nd and 58th, respectively.
