The Estonian Olympic Committee signed on Thursday the invitation of the International Olympic Committee for participation at the Sochi Olympics where EOC hopes to send 25-30 athletes, LETA/Public Broadcasting reports.
By now, Estonia has secured 9 places in the biathlon competitions and 2 in figure skating. "As of today, we count on sending 25-30 athletes," said EOC president Neinar Seli.
Since the games take place in complicated conditions, the preparations can be more expensive than planned, for example due to mountain training camps. "Athletes and background crew shouldn’t be worried since the budget for their preparations is covered" said Seli.
The 2014 Winter Olympics, officially the XXII Olympic Winter Games, will be celebrated from 7 to 23 February 2014, in Sochi, Russia.
