Food shopping basket in Estonia becomes by 5.2% more expensive in February y-o-y

The basic food products shopping basket compiled by TNS Emor became in February 2013 by 1.1% more expensive in a month and 5.2% more expensive in a year, writes LETA.

As of February, TNS Emor's basic food products basket cost 69.35 euros per person.

In a year, the prices fruits and vegetables have increased most, for example that of potatoes by 48.3% and imported apples by 28.6%. Major price increases were posted also by eggs (26.1%) and minced meat (17.5%).

As compared to last year, the price of only two food items have fallen – sugar (10%) and milk (4.5%).

TNS Emor's basic food products basket includes over 50 articles of food products.
