Public organisations in Estonia propose to establish a monument to well-known singer Georg Ots in Tallinn.
“Ots was a great person who had an outstanding talent and who was a role model for people of different nationalities and different views,” Vladisalv Kopylkov, a representative of the Baltic Integrum non-commercial association said.
The association believes that a monument to the popular singer would contribute to the integration process. “Ots was loved both by Estonians and Russians, he was a symbol of friendship and mutual understanding,” Kopylkov emphasized.
Georg Ots, an opera and variety singer, died in 1975. He was a winner of the State Prize of the USSR and two Stalin Prizes.
