The Estonian postal service Eesti Post has refused to publish a stamp which depicts Harald Riipalu, a former officer of the 20th Estonian SS Volunteer Division.
The stamp, which had been ordered by the Estonian SS Legion Club, was supposed to depict Riipalu in SS uniform.
Riipalu was involved in the extermination of Jews in Belarus and took part in several battles on the Eastern front.
However, in autumn last year, Eesti Post released a stamp honoring Harald Nugiseks, a Nazi henchman who was awarded the Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross.
An electronic service offered in Estonia enables the printing of postage stamps from any source, including one’s own photo.

Thank goodness Eesti Post rejected this Nazi thug, but how did the other one get through?! How many more decades will it take before decent Estonians realize that one need not honor the Estonian SS in order to disparage Russian overlordship.
