What was meant to happen has happened!
Open-air cafes on Town Hall Square in Tallinn that are popular with foreign tourists serve some of the country’s most expensive beer with half litres costing 5 euros, writes Postimees.
In most other open-air cafes in the Old Town beer costs between 2.5 and 4 euros a glass.
According to a representative of the central city district, there are about 100 potential open-air catering places in the Old Town, half of which are covered with applications.
Renting one square metre of Town Hall Square costs about 31 euros a month which is as much as last year.
Rents on other old town streets depend on the popularity of the site.
