The winner of the 40th Tartu Ski Marathon, held on February 20, was Swede Jerry Ahrlin in 2:41:23, beating his closest rival and two-time champion, Norwegian Anders Aukland by a second.
Simen Oestensen from Norway came in third.
According to Ahrlin the competition was hard and even during the last meters, he was not sure who would be crossing the finish line first, wrote the marathon's press release.
Besides taking home the victory, Ahrlin also became the current leader of the FIS Marathon Cup series which consists of 10 cross-country skiing events.
For the third year in a row, the best woman on the track was Sandra Hansson from Norway.
