The Tallinn Transport Board is conducting a public procurement for an operator to install parking vending machines that would accept cards and euro coins.
The operator would be responsible for organizing and verifying parking fee payments and fines for street parking in Tallinn for the next four years.
The company that will be awarded the contract must enable payments in at least four coins: 20 euro cents, 50 euro cents, one euro and two euros. Cards must be accepted as well.
The value of the contract is between 600,000 and 750,000 euros and tenders will be accepted until January 18 of this year.
Most of the city's previous-generation, coin-operated parking machines have fallen into disrepair with the advance of mobile phone parking. Until now, paying with a bank card has not been an option in public parking zones.
