Postimees writes that although Kadriorg is known mainly because of its beautiful park around the presidential palace, the City allows developers to build four four-storey office buildings at Narva road 63.
Deputy Mayor Taavi Aas said that at present the property in question houses a three-storey office building that dates back to the Stalinist time.
“According to the developer, the building next to Narva road will have a restaurant and the waterfront building will have a spa and a sports complex,” said Aas.
In August the court stopped the development of the so-called Tivoli project of Arco Vara next to the property in question when a local resident successfully argued that the project was not in line with Tallinn Parking Development Plan for years 2006-2014.
Arco Vara had planned to develop up to 11 apartment buildings in the area with a total of 650 apartments. Arco Vara had planned to begin construction this year.
