Speed limit in central Tallinn could fall to 40 km per hour

Eesti Päevaleht writes that Jürgenson has already sent such a request to Mayor of Tallinn Edgar Savisaar where he said that this could improve the traffic behaviour of motorists that has been deteriorating in recent times.
Jürgenson said that it was a disgrace that Tallinn has twice the number of passengers who are killed or injured in traffic every year than in Helsinki that is much bigger than Tallinn.
“Helsinki made the decision to reduce speed in central town to 40 km per hour 16 years ago and it has paid off,” said Jürgenson.
