EU might collapse

Collapse of EU is possible, said British historian Norman Davies in public dialogue with Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves, mediates ERR News.
“We don’t know where EU is going. It’s possible, like all experiments, all attempts to create something new, it could collapse,” said Davies.
“There’s no guarantee Europe will last for a 1000 years or more than any of the other political experiment. And I think that many people are too complacent about the politics of Europe. It’s still dominated by national governments, which have their own interests, who in this present economic financial crisis don’t have a common mechanism for solving a common financial problem. Similarly they don’t have a common foreign policy for events which affect all Europeans. I think Europe is at the very fragile moment, things could go seriously wrong,” continued Davies in his speech.
