TUESDAY 14 MARCH 7:30 P.M.
UMASS FINE ARTS CENTER CONCERT HALL
UMASS CAMPUS, AMHERST, MA
The Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir is probably the best known Estonian classical music group, and by far one of the best choirs in the world and they are returning to tour in the US. Their upcoming concert schedule includes a performance at the Fine Arts Center at UMass on March 14th at 7:30. The program includes works by the Estonian composer Arvo Pärt, as well as Rahmaninov and Poulenc for which the choir will be accompanied by nine musicians.
Founded in 1981 the EPPC has continued to gain recognition not only as performers at concerts venues and festivals, but also in the recording field where a recent album made last years New York Times list for ‘best classical cd of the year’. This year the EPPC is undertaking their second US tour with a repertoire that ranges from Gregorian chants to late baroque and 20th century music, and of course Estonian composers.
