Problem of public restrooms in Tallinn
It is nearly impossible to find public restrooms in Tallinn and though city authorities have planned new restrooms for years, none of them have been completed. Hundreds of tourists go to Toompea, but as there is only one public restroom, travel agencies have made agreements with restaurants and cafeterias to use their restrooms. Ain Valdmann from the Communal Department says that they cannot construct new restrooms because they do not know how these should look from outside. City designer Aavo Ermel thinks that the Communal Department is responsible – they should choose the interior they like first.
